Description
VINTAGE 1950's SET: PEWTER Soup Tureen with Ladle and with 6 small covered bowls (referred to as casseroles)(Very hard to find this set)
The 6 bowls and ladle are stamped
International Silver Company (This set is pewter NOT silver).
The tureen is not stamped because originally it came with a paper label but no longer on the tureen.
Condition in my opinion is very good to even excellent, with not much use. M
y camera tends to amplify all details and in my opinion this set looks even better in person.
Tureen and ladle look in excellent to new condition, barely evident it was used. Covered bowls/casseroles look to be in very good with slightly more use/wear, some minor tarnish mostly on the inside.
I try to be as detailed as possible in my description and pictures.
Most pewter collectors know a
ll pewter has
natural
pitting (example in pic 8) and has/will develop some natural tarnish over time, which should be expected, and some very light scratches (example in pic 9) from cleaning, barely
noticeable, I just try to be precise as possible in my description. T
his particular set was very well taken care of; it was
cleaned after it's last use and stored carefully; I would say it's ready to use or display but you may want to re-clean to
your
liking.
It's a beautiful set full of Spirit-and-History!
