required unless you are connecting to Police/Military Radio or External Communication System.
For enhanced communication, an optional Voice Projection Unit (VPU) with internal microphone is easily connected via the Electronic Communication Port (ECP).  Powered Voice Amplifier ( VPU ) unit connects to the front of the gas mask & Internal Mic plugs in to internal mic ECP connection.  Designed for use with Avon M50 & Avon C50 gas mask (The FM53 uses a different type of VPU, also available upon request)
