Hi there, I have decided to test the market for my clean left handed 2000 Squier Stratocaster Standard Series CII finished in the extremely rare Custom Shop color Purple Metallic (593) that was only used for a couple years. All original with the exception of new strings, a replaced plastic tuner washer, and missing the tremolo arm.
This is the only Purple Metallic Squier you will find on the internet currently, right or left handed. There are a couple Fender American Standards but they are also all over 00.
Personally I would consider this guitar in Excellent condition but I understand a Mint collector (or Reverb) probably doesn't, so I am rating it Very Good to be safe.
This gem was a diamond in the rough, still is to the extent of needing an experienced/personal set up. It has near to no play scratches or wear with the majority on the pickguard, however overall it is still beautiful and feels barely used. Just buffed paint and cleaned top to bottom, then installed fresh light gauge strings so it will be ready to test out of box. It is set at high action so I highly recommend a final set up, I am not too experienced in this area yet but it ultimately relies on personal preference in the end anyways.
    IMPORTANT DESCRIPTIVE NOTES:
    - Full Body Size, 1-3/4" Thick with HSH routing like the MIM and 22 Frets like the MIAs. It is either made of Alder or Agathis it is quite hard to source the correct information for this at the moment.
    - Classic 6-Point Tremolo (instead of 2-Point like the Squier Standards post 2000), any other factory specs can be found below in the Product Specs drop down tab. It was made a month before they updated the standards to the 2-point tremolo and likely woods or other things as well.
    - Stock electronics and they have all been key tested and function as desired. Pickups sound pretty decent in my opinion as they may be Alnico's but I'm not sure, considering some Squier ceramics though these sound way better and more like a classic strat.
    - Pickguard and the slick satin coated Neck both have an ALL NATURAL aged tint (in certain light the pickguard looks like it has the slightest mint green tint which I find neat). Body/neck/fretboard was just cleaned with Naphtha then Rosewood oiled with Pure Almond Oil, and body finish buffed with Meguiars Scratch-X 2.0. Frets are in excellent shape and show near to no wear, before installing the fresh strings I lightly polished them.
    - Truss rod functions as intended, the neck appears to be straight with no signs of warping or twisting. As mentioned throughout this listing I have many photos of this guitar, including a few showing the neck to be true days before listing it. Please if you are not sure of something or would like to see a photo just ask I got you covered!
    - Only noticeable blemishes is a light scratch on the back between the neck plate and tremolo cavity cover, a spot of white paint on the tip of the headstock I've always thought about sanding off, some thin spotting on the back of the neck, the string nut could use a trimming on the sides a little. The overall finish throughout is striking, I do not account for microscopic scratches however. No neck pocket paint cracks visible as far as I can see.
    DETAILED HISTORY FOR THOSE INTERESTED:
To be as transparent as always, I felt it was worth noting the now corrected issue this guitar went through. This specimen had some sad quality control within the neck/pocket from factory, exiling it to look nice on the wall for most its life until I finally addressed it. It had too much paint in the neck pocket, and this specific neck must have had the mount screw holes stripped in production and they ended up just sticking large shards of wood in the holes (have a photo of this) instead of correcting it an acceptable way. So for the longest time the neck was dead on the high B and E strings from fret 17-22 even with extreme truss relief and maxed bridge saddles. Rendering it unplayable to me or not enjoyable at the very least. I finally had the motive to correct this issue and found that sanding the excess paint in the pocket, and filling with JB Weld Wood Epoxy Putty then redrilling using a 1/8" bit on the neck screw holes would fix all its birth defects. I also had to slim down the pickguard where the overhang of the fretboard lays on top of it. In conclusion the neck fits flush, solid, and straight in the pocket base with no dead frets on the fretboard! With the truss adjusted to just under straight, and the saddles at a medium baseline. To wrap it up, this gem just needs a pro set up or whatever you want done to play like the MIM or even MIA Standard its designed after.
Regardless of its hindered past this one rivals a MIM at minimum in overall build quality, its solid and the neck feels amazing in a different way from the MIM/MIAs I have owned. Reverb only allows 24 photos but I have close to 100 if you need to see more and what issues it had above. I've owned two of these Indonesian 2000's in the Purple Metallic (this one being in better overall condition), and originally an 60th Anni American Deluxe Strat in Purple Metallic that the Squiers just could never replace. Its funny that both Squiers had excess paint in the neck pocket and a small piece of sandpaper "shim" like they knew it needed extra sanding. Its also ironic I recently fixed the issues and got it playable after so many years just to pass it on, but I just bought a Schecter Omen Extreme that has reignited what my Deluxe did for me as a teen! So this one must go to make room and recoup funds, I hope it goes to someone who can appreciate it for what it can be with just a little more love!
